You know who's really awesome?

Jennifer Nettles, the lead singer in the band Sugarland. She rocks. She has so much energy, a huge vocal range, and can hold one note for forever. AWESOME. :)

Music

Music is an interesting thing.
It is the most obvious metaphor to show how hard work and practice pay off, through singing, dancing, or playing an instrument. I play the piano, and I am a level 5, so I'm pretty good. Somedays though it is just. so. hard. I just wish it came naturally to me. Sometimes it feels so time-consuming but not worth the effort. It is so hard to see the progress after months of practicing a single piece and getting no where....
Sorry, just frustrated today.

Just Calm Down....

Okay, everyone, THE WORLD IS NOT GOING TO END TODAY! God is the only one who knows the last day of the world, and in Amos it says "Surely the Lord God will do nothing but he revealeth his secrets unto his servants the prophets." The Prophet woulda told us if the world was going to end today, so just hold your Hippogriffs, and don't go nuts.

New Time-Waster

So, I have started watching Lost on dvd. Now that Smallville is over, I decided it was time for something new. It has resulted in me staying up way too late multiple nights in a row watching it, and spending hours during the day looking up info on the show and its cast.... oh, brother....

Today, I taught eight girls how to build a fire and light it with flint and steel, and they all did it successfully. :)

I MISS TYLER!!

So I have a boyfriend who is on a mission for our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), and he's in Florida. I miss him like crazy! I wish he would write to me more :( :( But he'll be home in just over six months! He is the most amazing, cute, sweet, thoughtful boy ever!

I cannot believe it...

What is it with all of my friends getting married???!!! It scares me that enough that THEY are getting married, but it makes me realize how close I might be to getting married. I'M JUST NOT READY YET!!!

FINALLY

I have finally finished seminary! I feel like I should have finished forever ago, since I finished high school so early and all my friends have already graduated because they are older than me. But now I am finally done and I can move on to institute and other things. YAY!!!!

My friend asked me to help him with a project on The Count of Monte Cristo, and I am so glad he did, because I started to read it on Friday night. I totally love it, the wording, the characters, the story... I can't wait to finish it!

Friends

A "friend" is such a strange term now. It seems to imply that when you are on your facebook page, and you click on your list of friends, everyone that comes up is your friend. I think sometimes the term is used too lightly. When I say friend, I mean someone who is trustworthy, loyal, and honest. A true friend is a rare gem.
